Pilz - Safe radar system PSENradar
New applications thanks to enlarged field of view and FSoE connection
Working safely under the harshest conditions
With Pilz' safe radar system PSENradar, safe area monitoring in harsh environments can now be implemented for other applications as well: Thanks to the extensive field of view functions, the radar sensors can be more easily integrated into different production environments. The flexibility of adaptable fields of view offers particular advantages in tight spaces. Furthermore, coupling to the open safety protocol Safety over EtherCAT FSoE is now possible: Wiring work and costs are reduced.
In addition to the already available radar sensor with a detection range of 0 to 5 meters, the safe radar sensor PSEN rd1.2 sensor F-FOV LR with a range of 0 to 9 meters is now also available. This makes it possible to efficiently secure mobile applications.
Flexible viewing angle = more productivity
New to both sensor devices are the options for flexibly configuring fields of view: in addition to the symmetrical viewing angle, asymmetrical and corridor viewing angles can also be set. This means that PSENradar can be used reliably in different production environments. This also saves space in production, especially if space is limited when machines are close together, for example, or there are walkways directly along machines. Since the field of view settings can now be configured more individually, the radar sensor can be placed more flexibly without restricting production activities. This not only provides greater safety in harsh environments, but also increases productivity.
Radar connects
PSENradar together with the configurable small control PNOZmulti 2 from Pilz offers a secure overall solution for the monitoring of protected areas - including secure data transfer with FSoE in the EtherCAT communication system. The new processing unit of the PSENradar radar system enables FSoE functionality according to IEC 61508 for safety applications up to SIL 3. As an FSoE-MainInstance (FSoE-Master), PNOZmulti 2 combines the monitoring of all safety functions of a radar application in one device and makes connections to safe FSoE SubordinateInstances (FSoE slaves) in the network.
In the overall package of the safe small control PNOZmulti 2 as FSoE-MainInstance with safe radar system, this safety-relevant coupling can be easily implemented as a single-cable solution with minimal wiring costs.

That sounds safeRead moreThe PSENmlock door handle module gives you a handle with an integrated actuator and an integrated escape release – perfect for the safety gate system PSENmlock. The yellow handle (outside) enables extension of the actuator to open or close the gate. The escape release is operated with the red handle (inside). The PSENmlock door handle module is suitable for fitting on the inside and the outside of the gate as well as for right-hinged and left-hinged gates. It has a locking insert for up to five locks to prevent the machine from restarting and can be used with the coded and fully coded PSENmlock switches.

Xeltis - Heart for businessRead moreXeltis develops technology for making artificial vessels and heart valves. When they needed a professional measuring machine for quality control, they knocked on itsme's door for control software and data collection. It worked out really well. “itsme has a lot of in-house expertise, they know everything about the hardware and they can switch quickly with partners. Plus, they're flexible.”
-
Van de Kar - Greater efficiency and depth with bespoke trainingRead moreVan de Kar Elektrotechniek has had a relationship with itsme since early 2003 for the supply of materials and Siemens training sessions. This spring was the premiere of in-house customised training. “That is much more efficient. Our guys already have a certain background, so they can skip basic stuff and actually dive deeper into specific parts.”

Manders Automation - Challenging each other to do it better and smarterRead moreThe relationship between Manders Automation and itsme is all about flexibility and the drive to do things better and smarter. Take, for example, the 2BIN system for grab stock management and the complete kits for serial machine construction. “We are constantly challenging each other. We also want to take additional steps in digitalization and become more sustainable.”
