Since the outbreak of the Corona virus, questions have arisen about the effects on the global supply chain.
We would like to inform you on our measurements that we already have taken and to be taken jointly to safeguard availability within the supply chain. itsme is an industrial distributor of electrical and mechanical components and we do not produce, assemble or produce our own products, nor do we buy raw materials nor import products outside of Europe. We depend on our strategic supplier base. Generally, these produce their products in Europe. Sub (electronic) components can, however, be imported outside of Europe for production purposes. On 10th of February 2020, we have sent a questionnaire to our main suppliers about possible effects of the Coronavirus on their supply chain and for continuous updates hereon. So far we have not been informed of specific negative consequences. We have frequent contact with our core suppliers and will inform you as soon as possible if a negative impact is expected.
We have taken precautionary measurements for supply chain availability and have pre ordered an additional 3 months of stock of our core assortment.
Stock is based on general historic sell out numbers and not on customer specific forecasts. Stock is also publically available and is reserved on a first come first serve basis. Should specific availability measures to be taken on your behalf, please contact your main itsme contact person, then we can jointly discuss and take appropriate measures.
To ensure safety of employees, our business continuity and your supply chain we have separated our distribution centre crew into 2 shifts that operate strictly separated from each other. Employees of other departments have been ordered to work in shifts or work out of home office. All visits (except for goods supply to DC) of partners to our sites have been cancelled and switched to (video) conference meetings. Furthermore, we act in accordance with the guidelines of national and local health authorities.
